Residential internal modifications

We have successfully delivered a large number of structural inspections, and structural modifications for residential and commercial buildings for up to 2 floors. This client requested a general structural inspection and structural evaluation of the area that requires reconfigurations. The modifications consist in:

  • Removal of the internal walls adjacent to the kitchen on the ground floor on grid C/2-3 C/3-4 [fig.1] internal load bearing wall

  • Case study to see if it is possible to increase of opening in the secondary façade by removing the wall between the window and door and removing the sill under a window/ and creating a unitary opening of 5.00 m

  • location: Hornsby NSW

Alteration and extensions

We have successfully delivered a large number of structural designs for structural reconfigurations and extensions of residential dwellings.

This scope of works consists of a general evaluation of the alteration impact over the existing structure and proposes reinforced methods if the architectural proposal requires, and structural design of the extension.

The proposed extension consists of slab on the ground with edge beams and internal beams plus piers for infrastructure

- brick veneer ground floor

- timber structure for the roof

to avoid cracks in the floor finish we introduce 1 row of dowels between the existing building and the extension at key points of the structure.

Retaining structures

Retaining structures are civil structdesignedesign to retain the level of the soil on the back at a general slope that is not natural and be unstable otherwise.

We have successfully delivered a large number of new retaining walls in Australia and internationally.

The scope of work for this particular project was to design the access and a set of retaining walls to create a couple of terraces.  The solution was a gravity wall using sandstone logs.

Location:  the hill are in North Sydney

New buildings

We are involved in delivering new buildings and we have completed couple of projects for residential houses or industrial buildings

The scope of work for this building was to design a structure for a workshop.

The building structure is steel/timber with reinforced concrete footings

Location: Albury

Multistory buildings

We have successfully delivered low-rise buildings up to 8 floors across the world.  The structure varies from project to project but most of the time the superstructure was mixed reinforced concrete building with columns slabs and walls, while the infrastructure is a concrete slab, strip or pad footings or indirect founding methods piles, etc

The scope of work for this building was to design a mixt commercial and residential building structure for aa local client.

The building is situated in a high seismic area therefore we have selected a ductile superstructure composed of a mixed system of load-bearing share walls and portal frames, with a reinforced concrete slab for a bracing horizontal effect .
