An internal alteration to a character home in Hornsby, opening the kitchen and dining areas into a single, bright open-plan living space.
We provided the structural design to remove the existing load-bearing wall and carry the loads above on a new steel beam, with the supporting posts and connections designed to suit the existing structure. The result keeps the home's character while giving it a modern, open layout.
As with every alteration, the work was documented and certified to Australian Standards — ready for the builder and council.
